The 'crooked birch' is the first identifiable tree of the HOGENT
and immediately fulfills a double function
The QR code of the 'crooked birch' provides an identification and tells a story
The 'crooked birch' is a concept on campus. It therefore becomes an important part of the Ecoshelter XL. All employees can currently scan a QR code that gives them more information about the tree. HOGENT also wants to turn the 'crooked birch' into a place of stories. They are currently calling on employees to share stories about the birch via the QR code.
HOGENT's Living Lab creates a green space for people and a new living environment for animals with 'Ecoshelters'
HOGENT's Living Lab wants to transform open spaces on its campuses into publicly accessible green spaces. This is done in co-creation with students, employees and local residents. They are currently working on the 'Ecoshelter' project, a project on building T on the Schoonmeersen-Zuid campus. The Ecoshelter XL will be a space where there is respect for all of nature, from humans to the fauna and flora that live there. With the project they want to create more awareness for the value of the few trees present on the site.
